Clos des Spiritueux - Armagnac Ténarèze - Barrel Proof - Vintage 1992 - 43.8%
The Clos des Spiritueux is located in Cassaigne, in the heart of the renowned Armagnac appellation, in the Gers department. Since 1939, when Osmin Rozès acquired this exceptional estate, numerous renovation works have been undertaken to preserve and enhance this unique terroir. Today, the fourth generation, embodied by Caroline Rozès, continues this family tradition of excellence. The Clos des Spiritueux spans over 50 hectares of vineyards carefully cultivated with the utmost respect for the environment and biodiversity, ensuring natural nourishment for local fauna and flora. The emblematic grape varieties planted are mainly Ugni Blanc, Colombard, and Baco, with an average vine age of around 40 years, some over 60 years old. The distillation of the grapes is carried out in a traditional Armagnac still, called "continuous heating," ensuring optimal extraction of aromas. The aging of these rare eaux-de-vie takes place directly within the castle walls, whose thick walls maintain stable humidity and temperature levels, ideal conditions promoting slow and high-quality aging of the Armagnacs. Furthermore, the Clos des Spiritueux holds a perpetual Solera reserve initiated in 2001, guaranteeing unmatched aromatic complexity. All Armagnacs offered are vintage, barrel proof, from a single cask, and bottled only on order, with a concern for authenticity and prestige.
The 1992 vintage is a balanced blend of Ugni Blanc (65%) and Colombard (35%). This year was marked by a hot summer and a dry spring, perfect climatic conditions to give birth to an exceptional Armagnac, rich in character and finesse.
