Gaston Legrand - Vintage 1996 - Bas Armagnac - 40%
The Maison Lhéraud is located in the heart of the prestigious Lasdoux estate, in the commune of Angeac in the Cognac appellation, a region emblematic of the Charentes, world-renowned for its exceptional spirits. Founded in 1860, when Alexandre Lhéraud was the first in the family to plant vines in his garden, this house perpetuates a unique tradition of viticultural know-how and distillation. Today, the estate covers 85 hectares of meticulously maintained vines, spread over 2 of the 6 exceptional crus of Cognac, with a predominance of the renowned Petite Champagne, a true terroir of excellence. The Lhéraud family cultivates its vines there respecting sustainable practices to guarantee the quality and authenticity of its grapes.
The facilities include five historic cellars made of blonde Charente stone, offering an ideal environment for the natural aging of Armagnacs. The Limousin oak barrels mature slowly there, giving the eaux-de-vie rich aromas and unparalleled aromatic complexity. From Lannepax in the Gers, the Maison Lhéraud expands its heritage by producing an extensive range of Armagnacs under the prestigious Baron Gaston Legrand appellation. These Armagnacs come from a traditional and simple distillation of dry white wines selected from the exceptional terroir of Ténarèze, carried out in a highly mastered column still, guaranteeing remarkable purity and finesse.
