ARMAGNAC DELORD - 25 years old - 40% ABV
The exceptional history of Armagnac Delord begins in 1893. Prosper, a traveling distiller and passionate cellar master, travels the farms with his still to transform white wine into an exceptional Armagnac. It is his sons, Gaston and Georges, who founded the prestigious Maison d'Armagnac Delord Frères in Lannepax, the heart of the Gers and an emblematic terroir of Gascony. As producers, distillers, and merchants, they distinguished themselves by exporting their unique Bas-Armagnacs to American markets. In 1963, Jacques, Gaston's son, continued this tradition, joined ten years later by his brother Pierre. Since 2001, Sylvain and Jérôme, the new generation, passionately embody this ancestral know-how; one is the expert in production, tasting, and blending, while the other ensures the promotion of this renowned brand.
The exceptional vineyard extends over 42 hectares carefully divided into 11 plots. It is cultivated with the four traditional Armagnac grape varieties: Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Baco, and Folle Blanche, harvested, pressed, and vinified separately in a cellar dedicated to winemaking. Maison Delord is an innovator by combining the two traditional distillation methods: the continuous distillation specific to Armagnac and the double distillation, for unparalleled quality and aromatic complexity. The cellars, a true treasure, house more than 1,000 barrels and a dozen oak vats, guaranteeing the perfect maturation of Armagnac eaux-de-vie, ranging from the 20th century to today. The oldest vintages are carefully preserved in demijohns in a completely dark room called "Le Paradis," a sacred place dedicated to the ultimate aging.
Clos des Spiritueux invites you to discover this historical richness and unique artisanal expertise, to savor an exceptional Armagnac recognized worldwide, reflecting a family tradition and an exceptional terroir.
