Armagnac Laterrade - Bas-Armagnac - 1986 - Domaine de Marquet - Brut de Fût - 43.7%
Laterrade is a recognized brand of independent bottling specializing in authentic and exceptional Armagnac. Vincent Laterrade, originally from Vic-Fezensac, the historic heart of the Ténarèze in Armagnac, has been able to pass on his passion for these rare spirits. A former renowned sommelier, he discovered with amazement small local producers and founded with two enthusiasts L’Encantada, a unique project offering vintage Armagnacs from still little-known and rare estates. Tireless hunter of exceptional Armagnacs, Vincent thus reconstitutes an exclusive and prestigious collection. Later, he partnered with the Fitte family, owners of the Château de Herrebouc in Vic-Fezensac, strengthening his expertise and quest for exceptional vintages. His approach is clear and committed: to select vintage Armagnacs from a single estate, without any alcohol reduction, blending or alteration, to reveal the purity and richness of the Gascon terroirs. Upon the dissolution of this partnership, Vincent carefully kept his stocks. Once again the driving force of his ambition, he convinced Stéphane de Luze to entrust him with the renovation of an abandoned barn on the property of Château de Briat, now transformed into an exceptional cellar. Here, each barrel belongs exclusively to Laterrade and the spirits are bottled under this prestigious label. The brand defends a coherent local know-how: producers are exclusively regional, bottles are blown by a local glassmaker, labels are printed on artisanal rag paper, the wax is 100% French, and the boxes are made from French wood, emphasizing a deep commitment to quality, authenticity, and respect for the Gascon terroirs.
This exceptional Bas-Armagnac was distilled in 1986 at Domaine de Marquet, located in Castandet, in the heart of the Gascon terroir. It benefited from a slow and careful aging of more than 37 years in French oak barrels, giving this spirit a unique aromatic complexity and remarkable depth, a faithful reflection of the ancestral know-how and the Armagnac terroir.
