Laterrade is an iconic brand of independent bottling specializing in Armagnac, the noble and authentic spirit from the southwest of France. Vincent Laterrade, originally from Vic-Fezensac, a renowned village in the Ténarèze region of Armagnac, is a former sommelier passionate about terroirs and local producers. His quest led him to discover small regional estates and to partner with two enthusiasts to found L’Encantada, a house offering rare vintage armagnacs from little-known estates. Vincent Laterrade is recognized as a true hunter of exceptional armagnacs, skilled at uncovering treasures decades old. Later, by partnering with the Fitte family, owners of Château de Herrebouc in Vic-Fezensac, he enriched his collection with vintages ranging from 10 to over 50 years old. His philosophy is clear: to offer vintage armagnacs from a single estate, without any alcohol reduction, blending, or alteration, thus guaranteeing total purity and authenticity. After the dissolution of this partnership, Vincent had to carefully rebuild his stock. His perseverance led him to convince Stéphane de Luze to entrust him with renovating an abandoned barn on the Château de Briat estate, transformed into a dedicated cellar. Now, the barrels he selects are exclusively under his ownership, and his Armagnacs are marketed under the prestigious "Laterrade" label. Committed to quality and locality, Vincent exclusively works with regional producers for his spirits, uses bottles made by a local glassmaker, labels made from regional rag paper, French wax, and boxes sourced from French forests, thus promoting artisanal and sustainable craftsmanship.
This remarkable Bas-Armagnac was distilled in 2016 at the prestigious Domaine de Coutchot located in Gaube. It benefited from 8 years of aging in carefully selected French oak barrels, directly sourced from the majestic Gascony forest. This slow maturation in noble wood imparts complex aromas, a richness of woody nuances, and rare elegance, ideal for demanding enthusiasts and connoisseurs seeking authenticity.
