Dartigalongue - Bas Armagnac - 15 years - 40% ABV
The prestigious Armagnac House Dartigalongue, located in Nogaro, the heart of the Gers, has embodied excellence and tradition in Armagnac production since 1838. Founded by Pascal Dartigalongue, this house is recognized as one of the oldest and most authentic in the Gascony region. In 2010, under the visionary leadership of Françoise Dartigalongue, Benoit Hillion, husband of Virginie, Françoise's niece, left his position as an agronomist engineer in Paris to continue the family's ancestral craft in Nogaro. The Dartigalongue family applies rigorous expertise by carefully selecting white eaux-de-vie made from the three emblematic grape varieties: Ugni Blanc, Baco Blanc, and Folle Blanche, grown on the silty and sandy soils of Bas-Armagnac, renowned for producing Armagnacs of incomparable finesse and elegance.
Traditional distillation is carried out using a column still that ensures continuous low-degree distillation, thus preserving all the aromatic subtleties of the eaux-de-vie. The rigorous aging is done in Gascon oak barrels, supplied by local coopers known for their expertise, which impart unique woody notes to the Armagnac. Young eaux-de-vie first rest in dry cellars to preserve their liveliness, before refinement in humid cellars that promote roundness and complexity in the final product.
This exclusive cuvée is a harmonious blend of Armagnacs aged for a minimum of 15 years, offering a perfect balance between aromatic richness, depth, and elegance.
