Hontambère - Rare Armagnac Collection - Armagnac - 2011 - Baco - Single Cask - 57.2%
The Hontambère Distillery is ideally located in Castelnau d’Auzan, the historic heart of the famous Ténarèze region, the traditional cradle of Armagnac. Under the passionate leadership of Cindy Crighton, and thanks to the exceptional expertise of Sylvain Lafargue, Distiller and Cellar Master, this exceptional house produces Armagnac eaux-de-vie exclusively from the vineyard of the estate planted with the four emblematic grape varieties: Ugni Blanc, Baco, Folle Blanche, and Colombard. The richness of this unique terroir is enhanced by distillation carried out in a century-old Armagnac still, located within the Hontambère cellars.
Hontambère stands out not only as a renowned Armagnac producer but also as a bottler of rare and vintage crus. Their exclusive collection includes oenological treasures such as old stocks from the prestigious Pouchégu distillery, further enriching the diversity and depth of their selection. More than 550 casks, carefully stored in cellars optimized for slow and controlled aging, testify to the heritage and excellence of this unique wine-growing region. This historical and artisanal richness gives Clos des Spiritueux a privileged place among the best Armagnac specialists.
This exceptional Ténarèze Armagnac is made exclusively from the Baco grape variety, distilled in 2011, offering a rich and powerful personality. Aged rigorously for 10 years in a single cask (#TC9) in a dry cellar, this Armagnac has developed complex aromas and rare depth, typical of high-end single casks. Bottled in May 2023, this limited edition counts only 400 bottles, making each bottle a true collector's item for lovers and connoisseurs of fine eaux-de-vie.
