RHUM JM - Armagnac Cask Finish - 41.5%
The prestigious history of JM rums begins in the heart of lush vegetation, within one of the most beautiful distilleries located at the Fonds-Préville estate, in Macouba (Martinique). The first distillations were carried out in 1845 thanks to the visionary initiative of Jean-Marie Martin, who marked his rums with his initials "JM," thus giving birth to an iconic brand. In 1912, the distillery was taken over by Ernest Crassous de Médeuil and his brother Gustave, then manager and owner of the Bellevue estate. After several significant improvements, these two estates merged to form the Habitation Fonds-Préville. Today, the Bernard Hayot Group holds the majority of shares in the SCA Héritiers Crassous de Médeuil, ensuring the continuity of a unique know-how.
The sugar canes, passionately cultivated on the Fonds-Préville estate which extends over 225 hectares, benefit from an exceptional terroir located on the slopes of Montagne Pelée. This specific terroir gives the canes optimal quality, reflecting the richness of the volcanic soils. The fermented juices are carefully distilled in two traditional Creole copper columns, limited to 72° to preserve the aromatic authenticity and natural richness of the sugar canes in every bottle of JM rum. The distillery also benefits from a precious resource, being supplied by the pure and crystalline waters of Montagne Pelée.
This exceptional rum named Armagnac Cask Finish comes exclusively from the 2004 vintage. Its name refers to a unique aging method: after an initial traditional maturation, the rum was aged in ex-Armagnac barrels from the famous Château de Tariquet (http:\/\/www.tariquet.com) starting in 2005. This extended maturation gives the rum subtle and complex notes, blending finesse and depth for an unforgettable tasting experience. Bottled in 2015, this gem is now proudly available in our Clos des Spiritueux shop as well as on our online store, where you can discover and order this premium rum at the best price.
