Père Labat - Artisanal White Rum - 59% Vol. - 70cl Bottle
The exceptional history of this iconic distillery dates back to the 18th century, when Madame Poisson acquired an estate formerly dedicated solely to sugar production on the preserved islet of Marie-Galante. At the beginning of the 20th century, thanks to technical innovations and the visionary investment of Monsieur Rameau, who became the owner, the transformation of this former sugar factory into a distillery of excellence began. The installation of a still and a red copper Creole column allowed the Poisson distillery to establish itself among the great names of premium agricultural rums. Monsieur Rameau then chose to honor the famous pioneer of fresh cane juice distillation, Père Labat*, by naming this prestigious range of exceptional rums after him.
This 59% Vol White Rum distilled by Poisson-Père Labat is a unique gem on the island, being the only white rum marketed with such an alcohol degree, revealing a powerful and refined aromatic concentration, the result of traditional know-how passed down from generation to generation. Ideal for lovers of authentic agricultural rums seeking an intense and pure tasting experience.
This 70cl bottle version is also offered by Clos des Spiritueux, which also offers this great rum in a generous 1-liter format.
*For the curious, Jean-Baptiste Labat was a Dominican missionary with multiple talents, who at the beginning of the 18th century greatly contributed to modernizing the cultivation and distillation of sugar cane, thus revolutionizing the sugar and rum industry of the Antilles.
