The fame of JM rums begins in the heart of lush vegetation, on the exceptional estate of Habitation Fonds-Préville, located in Macouba, Martinique, one of the island's most prestigious distilleries. The first distillations were carried out as early as 1845, under the impetus of Jean-Marie Martin, whose initials "JM" have now become a symbol of quality and authenticity. In 1912, the distillery came under the management of Ernest Crassous de Médeuil and his brother Gustave, owner of the Bellevue estate. After several improvements, these two properties merged to form Habitation Fonds-Préville. Today, the Bernard Hayot Group holds the majority of shares in SCA Héritiers Crassous de Médeuil, guaranteeing perpetuated know-how and tradition.
The sugar canes are rigorously cultivated on the vast Fonds-Préville estate, covering 225 hectares, on a unique terroir at the foot of Montagne Pelée. This volcanic terroir gives the raw materials exceptional quality and intense aromatic character. The fermented cane juices are distilled in two traditional Creole copper columns, up to a maximum degree of 72°, thus ensuring the perfect preservation of authentic and natural flavors. The distillery also uses the pure and crystalline water from the Montagne Pelée springs for its processes, enhancing the quality of its rums.
Jardin Fruité is the latest creation born from this exceptional distillery, integrated into an exclusive collection called "L'Atelier des Rhums". This collection results from a meticulous and expert selection of different barrels and rums, combined to offer a unique tasting experience. Rhum JM Jardin Fruité is an amber rum, aged for 2 years in French and American barrels. Three types of barrels were carefully chosen, each benefiting from a specific level of toasting to reveal the typicity and aromatic richness of the bottle. The result is a smooth and accessible rum, with characteristic accents of the best Bourbons, where bright notes of exotic fruits such as pineapple, lemon, and orange intertwine. The barrels bring a subtle touch of vanilla, offering a beautiful roundness on the palate. Ideal to enhance your cocktails or for pure tasting, it is bottled at 42% alcohol.
