TROIS RIVIERES - White Rum - Cuvée de l'Océan - 42%
At the origin of the legendary Trois-Rivières rum, Nicolas Fouquet, then superintendent of the crown's finances, granted himself a vast 2000-hectare concession in Martinique in 1660. After his fall and disgrace, several owners succeeded one another until three sugar industrialists acquired the estate in 1770. It was under the impetus of the Marraud des Grottes family that the distillery was established in 1785, laying the foundations of an exceptional rum-making tradition. Today, the Chevrillon group manages this emblematic estate, even though the historic distillery closed its doors in 2004. The distillation activity was transferred to La Mauny, where the estate's famous distillation column now rests. Trois-Rivières benefits from a strong brand, endowed with an exceptional vintage range, which has greatly contributed to its growing prestige. Renowned among the finest connoisseurs, Trois-Rivières has produced some of the greatest aged agricultural vintage rums in the world, with legendary editions such as the vintages of 1953, 1964, 1969, and 1977.
This white rum Cuvée de l'Océan offered by Trois-Rivières is made from pure sugarcane juice carefully "grown with feet in the water," as proudly stated on the official site. Coming from a rigorous parcel selection, it originates from the sunny plot of Anse Trabaud, located in the South of Martinique. This exceptional white rum stands out for its unique character, both mineral, salty, and iodized, thus offering a true sensory immersion in the heart of Martinique. In short, it is a true treasure of the Martinican terroir captured in a bottle, ideal for lovers of pure and authentic agricultural rums.
