DBM – Bonne-Mère Distillery – Old XO Rum – 43%
Located in the north of Basse-Terre in Guadeloupe, the Bonne-Mère Distillery is part of a history that began at the end of the 18th century and was officially founded in 1863. Integrated into the La Martiniquaise group since 1998, it is today one of the major distilleries in the archipelago, with an impressive cellar of nearly 10,000 barrels, one of the largest in the Overseas Territories. This unique heritage allows it to produce traditional rums, renowned for their authenticity and elegance.
The Rhum Vieux XO “Grande Réserve” – Cuvée Eden (43%) embodies the quintessence of the DBM style. Produced from a refined blend of rums aged between 6 and 15 years minimum, it reveals a depth of aromas and a rare elegance. A true signature of the house, this XO combines woody complexity, ripe fruit and perfect balance. Several awards obtained in 2025 testify to its high level of quality and mastery of its aging.
Its clear, bright, ochre-brown color promises a rich tasting experience. The intense, delicate nose reveals aromas of acacia honey, golden syrup, melted caramel, candied citrus, and dried fruit, enveloped in woody and spicy nuances (nutmeg, fern). On the palate, the lively attack evolves into a silky texture with integrated tannins, developing flavors of ripe fruit, refined undergrowth, and roasted cocoa. The full, lingering finish leaves an elegant touch of blond tobacco and toasted notes. A distinguished and complex XO rum, ideal for connoisseurs seeking refinement.
