The Neisson distillery, a symbol of Martinican agricole rum, was founded in 1931, in the interwar period, by brothers Adrien and Hildebert Pamphile, better known as Jean Neisson. They acquired the La Thieulbert estate, a domain located in the heart of the prestigious terroir of northwestern Martinique, near Saint-Pierre, at the foot of the majestic Montagne Pelée, covering 20 hectares of sugarcane plantations. While Adrien dedicated himself to setting up and managing an artisanal distillery on site, his brother Jean completed his studies in Paris and then created an import-export company to introduce and promote Neisson rums on the Parisian market. A man passionate about excellence, Jean Neisson innovated by equipping the distillery with a specially modified Savalle column according to his specifications, which considerably improved the unique quality of the rums produced. Even today, the Neisson family continues this tradition of authenticity by running the last family distillery in Martinique, cultivating and distilling exclusively the canes from their own 40 hectares of land, thus guaranteeing traceability and premium quality in every bottle.
This amber rum Profile 105 stands out due to an atypical aging method within the Neisson range. Unlike traditional practices that favor aging in used Bourbon barrels, this rum was exclusively refined in new barrels, giving its aromatic profile a rare intensity and complexity. But the innovation doesn't stop there: these are actually new barrels selected meticulously from various origins, each subjected to different levels of toasting and charring. After numerous sensory tests, toasting number 105 was chosen to reveal all the richness and subtlety of this amber rum, the result of refined expertise and controlled boldness.
