RHUM HSE - Exceptional Aged Rum - Sherry Finish - Pedro Ximenez - Vintage 2005 - 46%
The La Maugée estate, renamed Saint-Etienne in 1863, transitioned from a sugar factory to an iconic distillery after its acquisition by Amédée Aubery in 1882. This visionary and young industrial leader modernized the facilities while optimizing energy use thanks to the Lézarde river that runs through the estate, still used today to dilute cane juices and ensure optimal quality. In 1994, the Hayot family (Yves and José) purchased the property following the judicial recovery of the previous owners. Significant renovation work was undertaken on this Martinique estate classified as a Historic Monument. The distillation column was then transferred to Simon, marking a new era. The Saint-Etienne brand officially became HSE (Habitation Saint-Etienne), synonymous with excellence and authenticity in the world of exceptional agricole rums.
This HSE Sherry Finish - Pedro Ximenez vintage 2005 rum is an integral part of the prestigious range of extra old rums "world finishes."
