Located in Souillac, in the heart of Lot , the Maison Louis Roque , a family distillery founded in 1905, has been perpetuating the art of artisanal distillation for over a century. A true emblem of Southwestern expertise, it stands out for its commitment to traditional methods, respect for the fruit, and manual labor, far removed from industrial logic.
His famous Old Plum is made from ripe plums (Ente, Mirabelle and Reine-Claude varieties), harvested in regional orchards. The fruits are carefully pitted by hand , then fermented naturally, without any additives. After fermentation, distillation is carried out slowly in copper stills in a bain-marie , according to the Charente method. The brandy is then patiently aged in oak barrels for 3 to 4 years . Precise blending of the batches ensures the consistency and balance of each bottling.
