The Massenez Distillery is located in Dieffenbach-au-Val, in the heart of the magnificent Alsace region. Founded in 1870 by the passionate Jean-Baptiste Massenez, a master distiller, it embodies a unique ancestral know-how. In 1913, his son Eugène Massenez innovated by distilling for the very first time a wild raspberry eau-de-vie, an exceptional creation that notably charmed the Queen of Sweden. This recognition quickly earned it the status of official supplier to the Swedish royal court. The third generation, represented by Gabriel Eugène, worked to enhance the distillery's reputation by establishing prestigious collaborations with French haute cuisine, notably with renowned starred chefs such as Paul Bocuse and iconic culinary institutions like La Tour d’Argent. To support this remarkable growth, a new ultramodern distillery was inaugurated in 1979. Today, the brand's international renown extends to more than 110 countries, thanks to a well-managed diversification of its exceptional product catalog. In 2010, Massenez Distillery partnered with the Grandes Distilleries Peureux, major players in the local sector. Under the leadership of Bernard Baud, President of Grandes Distilleries Peureux, known notably for their famous Griottines, a new momentum was given while preserving the authenticity and historical DNA of the house.
An eau-de-vie results from a meticulous process of fermentation or alcoholic maceration of fruits, berries, roots, or nuts, followed by rigorous distillation, thus guaranteeing unparalleled purity and aromatic richness.
