Clos des Spiritueux - Vieux Marc des Lambrays 40 years old - 40% alcohol
The Clos des Spiritueux is located in Morey-Saint-Denis, in the heart of the prestigious Côte de Nuits in Burgundy, a region renowned for the exceptional quality of its vineyard terroirs. The vineyard, whose origins date back to the 14th century, has experienced a turbulent history, notably after the French Revolution which fragmented the property into 74 distinct parcels. It was only in 1868 that the estate was gradually reunited. Over the centuries, it changed hands several times and went through periods of decline before being revitalized in 1979 by the passionate Roland de Chambure as well as Fabien and Louis Saier. Thanks to their commitment, the vineyard was classified as Grand Cru in 1981, a prestigious recognition of the exceptional quality of its wines. In 1996, the property was acquired by Gunter and Ruth Freund. Today, Clos des Spiritueux is largely associated with Domaine des Lambrays, which holds almost a monopoly, thus ensuring exclusive and excellent production.
