The prestigious Bielle distillery is located on the exquisite island of Marie-Galante, a jewel of the French Antilles. Originally founded in 1769 by Jean-Pierre Bielle, a passionate coffee grower, the history of this estate gradually shifted towards rum production. In 1826, his sons established a refinery-sugar factory spanning 53 hectares, laying the foundations of an exceptional family tradition. However, it was only at the beginning of the 20th<\/sup> century that the production of traditional agricole rum truly began on this unique terroir. After a period of abandonment following the Second World War, the property was taken over in 1955 by Paul Rameaux, before the SEDB (Société d’Exploitation de la Distillerie Bielle) took over in 1975 to modernize and enhance the distillery.
Today, the Bielle distillery is recognized as one of the major references in the Antilles for high-end agricole rum. The sugarcane is exclusively sourced from selected small local producers to ensure optimal quality and respect for the terroir. The cane juice is extracted using two traditional mills and then left to ferment for 48 hours, guaranteeing a natural fermentation rich in aromas. Distillation is carried out using three stainless steel Savalle columns, a technology combining precision and preservation of authentic flavors.
This remarkable aged agricole rum was distilled in 2015 and aged in cask for 9 years, developing intense aromatic complexity and perfect balance. It is bottled naturally at cask strength, 54.6%, without any reduction or addition, offering a pure and unaltered tasting experience for discerning enthusiasts.
