LONGUETEAU - Cuvée of February 29 - 2024 Edition - 56%
The Longueteau family settled in Guadeloupe as early as 1766, but it was only at the end of the 19th<\/sup> century that Louis-Philippe Henry Longueteau acquired part of the prestigious Marquisat de Sainte-Marie, put up for auction following the severe crisis in the sugar industry. In 1895, he bought the Habitation Espérance and gradually transformed the estate, turning it from a simple sugar factory into a renowned distillery. Today, under the passionate leadership of François Longueteau, the House continues its unique expertise, remaining the only distillery in Guadeloupe where the owner is both a farmer and master distiller.
Each of Longueteau's rums is entirely made from their own rigorously selected sugarcane. These canes, harvested at full maturity, are crushed the same day to preserve all their freshness and aromatic intensity. The fermentation, natural and without any additives, lasts 48 hours before the juices are distilled in an elegant Savalle column with 28 plates, ensuring finesse and gustatory complexity.
