The Neisson Distillery, located in the heart of Carbet in Martinique, is an essential reference for exceptional agricultural rums. Founded in 1932 by the Neisson brothers, this family distillery carries on a recognized and valuable artisanal know-how. Jean Neisson, a chemical engineer by training, dedicated his entire career to perfecting traditional distillation techniques, passing this passion on to his descendants Claudine and then Grégory, who today proudly uphold the heritage of Martinique.
Committed since 2013 to a transition towards certified organic farming, the Neisson Distillery offered its first organic rum labeled AOC Martinique in 2016, a symbol of excellence and authenticity. This sustainable approach now extends over more than 40 hectares of land rigorously cultivated following environmentally respectful practices. After years of thorough research, Neisson masters fermentation through the exclusive use of indigenous yeast strains, carefully selected from those naturally present on the sugarcane in the region.
All agricultural processes are optimized: reasoned selection of crop varieties adapted to the specific typology of each plot, controlled irrigation management for substantial water savings, and efficient treatment of effluents to preserve soil quality and groundwater.
