Whisky MICHEL COUVREUR - Vin Jaune Stéphane Tissot - 9 years - 2024 Edition - 48%
The independent bottler Michel Couvreur is historically recognized as a producer and merchant of prestigious Burgundy wines. In 1978, he passionately turned to the world of whisky, launching his first distillation at the Edradour distillery in 1986. At that time, Michel Couvreur considered acquiring a distillery in Scotland, but faced with his wife's opposition, the couple decided to settle in Bouze-Lès-Beaune, ideally located between Scotland and Andalusia. There, he specialized in the aging and maturation of whiskies, notably in Sherry and Port casks, bringing a unique aromatic richness. The produced range is extremely diverse, the result of meticulous work in selection, blending, and experimentation with innovative techniques. Since Michel Couvreur's passing in 2013, his son-in-law Cyril Deschamps and his wife Alexandra have continued this exceptional know-how and quest for excellence.
Vj is an exceptional Single Malt, distilled in February 2015 in Scotland, then aged for 9 years in Vin Jaune casks from the renowned Domaine Stéphane Tissot, within Michel Couvreur's Burgundy cellars. This unique aging imparts the whisky with complex and elegant notes, subtly blending spices, dried fruits, and a hint of iodine. Bottled on February 15, 2024, this limited edition counts only 2,500 numbered bottles, ideal for lovers of rare and refined spirits.
