The independent bottler Michel Couvreur is recognized as a pioneer in the world of craft whisky. Originally a producer and merchant of prestigious Burgundy wines, he turned to whisky production in 1978, distilling for the first time at the famous Edradour distillery in 1986. Ambitious, Michel Couvreur wanted to acquire a distillery in Scotland, but, faced with opposition from his wife, he chose to establish himself in Bouze-Lès-Beaune, a strategic location halfway between Scotland and Andalusia, ideal for refining the aging of exceptional whiskies. His specialty lies in unique maturation in Sherry and Port casks, giving each expression rich and complex aromas. The house offers a diverse range where each whisky benefits from meticulous blending, rigorous selection of rare casks, and innovative aging experiments. Since Michel Couvreur's death in 2013, his legacy has been passionately continued by his son-in-law Cyril Deschamps and his wife Alexandra, who uphold the excellence and authenticity of Michel Couvreur whiskies.

The whisky Aleksé was distilled in 2008 and then carefully aged for 15 years in a Sherry Oloroso Butt cask, giving it an intense and deep aromatic richness. This rare expression was limited to only 702 bottles, ensuring exclusivity for lovers and collectors of exceptional whiskies.
