The malts used for this exclusive blend have been aged in Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry half-barrels, thus imparting complexity and depth.
On the nose, the attack surprises with aromas of vanilla and melting caramel, unexpected on a PX sherry. Gradually, the bouquet evolves towards more classic but refined notes, revealing soft spices such as cinnamon and ginger, accompanied by dried fruits – raisins, nuts – and fresh citrus peels. A subtle malty and slightly herbal touch intertwines with buttery gourmand nuances. All is delicately wrapped by a rich and creamy peat, present but always elegant, enhanced by an iodized saline nuance that brings freshness and complexity.
On the palate, the experience evokes a traditional Christmas cake, with buttery sensations, warm spices, and an assortment of dried fruits. The peat then takes on licorice aromas before tending towards an ashy finish. The saltiness remains well in place while the fruits evolve, offering a seductive combination of cherry, vibrant black fruits, and tangy grapefruit. The tasting ends on a persistent and elegant peppery note.
