The Savanna Distillery, a jewel of Réunion Island, is an iconic institution of French agricultural rum. Designed and built between 1948 and 1950 by the visionary Emile Hugot, this distillery originally located in Saint Paul was an integral part of the eponymous sugar factory. In 1982, Savanna innovated by acquiring a workshop dedicated exclusively to the production of light rum for export, establishing a strategic partnership with a major German player in the spirits sector. This acquisition marked the beginning of an era of technological and qualitative expansion, propelling the Savanna Distillery among the essential references for exceptional rum.
Today, the Savanna Distillery exports more than 80% of its production to professionals thanks to a perfect mastery of discontinuous fermentation, also called the "mother vat" process. This unique method, based on 8 fermenters of 100 m3<\/sup> each accompanied by their satellite equipment, guarantees the production of rums of exceptional quality, where complexity and finesse blend perfectly.
This exclusive limited edition was created in collaboration with the Réunionese artist Vast (Jordi Thaïs), an emblematic figure of modern street art, known for his colorful and committed works. Only 2,400 numbered bottles of this collector's cuvée were produced, offering connoisseurs a unique treasure to discover.
This exceptional rum is a refined blend of two molasses rums, distilled in 2015 in two distinct column stills: the most used column of the distillery and the historic copper Savalle column, emblematic of traditional Réunionese know-how.
