Whisky MICHEL COUVREUR - Spirale 2010/2023 - 12 years - Chapter IV - Bottled 2023 - 51.5%
The independent bottler Michel Couvreur, renowned for his unique expertise, was originally a producer and merchant of prestigious Burgundy wines. From 1978, he turned towards the demanding world of whisky, distilling for the first time at the Edradour distillery in 1986. At that time, his ambition was to acquire a distillery in Scotland, but facing opposition from his wife, they chose to establish their base in Bouze-Lès-Beaune, an ideal location halfway between Scottish lands and Andalusian wine regions. His privileged intervention focuses on the maturation and aging of whiskies, mainly in Sherry and Port casks, thus bringing complexity, roundness, and aromatic richness. The range offered is very diverse, the result of rigorous selection, meticulous blending, and innovative experiments around casks and aging techniques. Since Michel Couvreur's death in 2013, his son-in-law Cyril Deschamps and his wife Alexandra have continued the excellence and original vision of the master distiller.
The Spirale Whisky was distilled in 2010 and benefited from an exceptional aging of 12 years in carefully selected oak casks from the prestigious Domaine of Stéphane Tissot, which previously contained Vin de Paille from the Jura Appellation, thus conferring on the whisky a unique aromatic complexity, blending sweetness and finesse. This limited edition includes only 380 authentic bottles, a true treasure for collectors and lovers of rare whiskies.
