HSE - Single Cask 2006 - Unique Oak Barrel - Bottled in May 2022 - 47.8%
HSE (Habitation Saint Etienne) is an iconic house of Martinican spirits, formerly known as Habitation La Maugée, with roots dating back to 1863. Originally a traditional Martinican sugar factory, it was transformed into a distillery in 1882 by Amédée Aubery, a young visionary industrial captain. He modernized the facilities while cleverly harnessing the hydraulic power of the Lézarde river, which still supplies the estate today and is used to dilute sugar cane juices, thus ensuring optimal rum quality.
In 1994, after a difficult period marked by judicial recovery, Yves and José Hayot took over the property and undertook significant restoration work. These renovations helped enhance this unique site, now classified as a Historic Monument. The distillation of Saint-Etienne rum is carried out in a traditional Creole copper column, made by the famous Distillerie du Simon, located in François (Martinique), guaranteeing the authenticity and aromatic richness of the final product.
HSE Single Cask 2006 is an exceptional extra-old rum, aged in a unique oak barrel (FRA2107-2). Put into aging on June 20, 2006, it was bottled in May 2022 in a limited edition of only 1,000 bottles. Its refined aromatic profile and depth make it an essential reference for lovers of high-end agricultural rums and collectors seeking an exceptional single cask.
