RENEGADE - Studies - Dunfermline - Antipodes - 55%
Renegade Rum Distillery represents the most innovative and ambitious project led by the man behind the revival of Bruichladdich Islay Single Malt whisky as well as the Waterford distillery, renowned for its unique valorization of Irish terroirs: Mark Reynier. His strategic decision focused on Grenada, an island with a unique tropical climate offering an exceptional diversity of altitudes, microclimates, and soils suitable for cultivation. In close collaboration with CaneCo partner farmers, he succeeded in cultivating a wide range of sugarcane varieties, carefully selected according to the island's distinct terroirs. Thanks to this local involvement, Grenadians, whether young, old, experts, or enthusiasts, have acquired valuable skills in mastering modern techniques, thus transforming lands into true sugarcane farms of excellence and contributing to the sustainable development of the local agricultural economy.
Dunfermline, from the prestigious Studies range, is made from the rare variety called Lacalome Red (B80689), meticulously harvested between November 9 and 20, 2020, on the Anderson field located at the Dunfermline farm, a unique clay terroir of Mango Lane. The pot still distillation took place on November 13 and 14, 2020, ensuring the purity and aromatic complexity of the rum. It was then carefully aged in 15 American oak barrels, first-fill and with a capacity of 200 liters, from the famous Kelvin Cooperage cooperage. The exclusive production of 1,200 bottles was dedicated to La Maison du Whisky, as part of its exceptional Antipodes range, offering connoisseurs an authentic and refined tasting experience.
