LA FAVORITE - Coeur de Canne Blanc - 55%
La Favorite represents one of the last independent distilleries of excellence in Martinique, alongside Neisson. Founded in 1842 on the historic site of a former sugar factory called Les Jambettes, it was renamed La Favorite in 1851. In 1909, Henri Dormoy acquired the property and made significant innovations to transform this sugar factory into a modern distillery, thus continuing an ancestral tradition of producing agricole rum. After an interruption due to difficulties faced by Albert Dormoy in the 1930s, it was his brother André and renovation efforts in 1956 that allowed La Favorite to regain its authentic production.
Today, La Favorite carefully cultivates sugarcane on 60 hectares and works closely with small local producers for a rigorous selection of the best raw materials. The distillery still operates thanks to a historic steam engine built in 1906, guaranteeing a unique artisanal process. The vesou (cane juice), resulting from a prolonged fermentation of up to 72 hours, is distilled in its 2 distinctive Creole columns, one entirely made of copper dating from 1957 and the other, more modern, dating from 1986, symbolizing the perfect balance between respect for tradition and technical innovation.
The rum La Favorite Coeur de Canne Blanc is the result of a meticulous blend of several varieties of sugarcane from different plots, offering a unique aromatic complexity. The long fermentation and exclusive distillation in the Creole Column No. 1 reveal all the purity, finesse, and intensity characteristic of this exceptional agricole rum, recognized among the best white rums of Martinique.
