Papa Rouyo - Single Cask - Eritaj - 50.3%
Papa Rouyo is an exceptional agricultural rum originating from Guadeloupe, a must-visit land for lovers of superior quality rum. This prestigious brand pays tribute to "Papa Rouyo," whose real name was Charles Albert Ruscade, a passionate cultivator who worked the land with exemplary rigor and dedication. At Clos des Spiritueux, the planters, called "maîtres-canniers", are at the heart of a close collaboration with producers. They play a fundamental role in creating an authentic terroir rum that respects traditions.
This unique collective approach values the ancestral and modern know-how of the planters and producers, thus ensuring the production of an agricultural rum of rare purity and unparalleled organoleptic quality. In a spirit of sustainable agriculture and soil preservation, the maîtres-canniers favor a traditional cut of the long and natural cane. The canes are immediately transported to the mill to be crushed right away, guaranteeing freshness, aromatic richness, and excellence of the juice before distillation. The rum is then carefully aged, either in vats or barrels in the prestigious cellars located in Goyave.
Eritaj is the very first Single Cask from Papa Rouyo. This pure cane juice was distilled in April 2021 in a traditional pot still, revealing exceptional aromatic complexity. The rum then exclusively aged in a new 400-liter oak barrel from May 2021, offering a woody richness and optimal maturation. Bottled in June 2022, this precious blend is limited to only 651 numbered bottles, making this Single Cask a rare treasure for collectors and discerning enthusiasts.
