RHUM JM - La Dame Jeanne No.1 - 48.3%
Located in the heart of northern Martinique, precisely on the majestic slopes of the famous Montagne Pelée, Habitation Bellevue benefits from a humid tropical climate as well as volcanic soils of exceptional fertility, offering ideal conditions for cultivating sugarcane of remarkable quality. Founded in 1914, the Rhumerie J.M was acquired by Gustave Crassous de Médeuil from the family of Jean-Marie Martin, and since then, the descendants of the Crassous de Médeuil family have passionately and rigorously continued the artisanal production of the prestigious Rhum J.M.
The sugarcanes, rigorously cultivated and carefully selected, are crushed in traditional mills less than an hour after harvest. This unique method guarantees an exceptionally fresh cane juice, concentrated in natural aromas and essential sugars for the rum's refined taste. The J.M distillery also stands out as one of the few in Martinique to incorporate the use of pure spring water, sourced directly from Montagne Pelée, in its production process. This high-quality mineralized water plays a key role in the richness and aromatic balance of J.M rums. Furthermore, the distillation of the agricole rum is carried out exclusively using two traditional copper columns of the Creole type, ensuring authentic character and exceptional purity. The oak barrels undergo a rigorous selection before being pre-charred to reveal the full aromatic palette during aging. Each year, the cellar master performs a meticulous topping up of the barrels with rums of similar ages, thus ensuring the optimal preservation of the unique characteristics specific to each vintage.
The Dame Jeanne No.1 is a true masterpiece and a refined blend of old vintages, bringing together very old agricole rums carefully selected. This exclusive edition includes the exceptional vintages 2004, 2005, 2009, 2013, and 2014, all bottled cask strength to offer an authentic and intense experience to connoisseurs of exceptional spirits.
