BOLOGNE - VO - Aged Rum - 41%
The Bologne Distillery, emblematic of tradition and authenticity, is located in Guadeloupe, at the heart of an exceptional terroir. Operating since 1887, it owes its name to the former owners of the sugar factory established on the fertile slopes of the majestic La Soufrière volcano. Descended from a line of Protestant entrepreneurs, the Bologne family migrated to Holland during the religious wars before settling in Brazil in 1580, then a Dutch colony, where they passionately cultivated sugar cane. After being expelled from Brazil and then Martinique, the Bologne family settled in Guadeloupe in 1654. The Bologne sugar estate endured through the centuries, blending successes and challenges, notably during the French Revolution and the many historical upheavals typical of the great sugar factories of the time. Under the visionary leadership of Louis Sargenton-Callarden in 1930, the estate specialized in the refined production of high-quality Agricultural Rum, respecting traditional know-how and a unique terroir.
The VO is a harmonious blend of selected aged rums, carefully matured in oak barrels for 3, 4, 5, and 6 years. This aging imparts the rum with exceptional aromatic richness, combining woody, spicy, and fruity notes, emblematic of the finest cuvées from the Bologne Distillery.
