BOLOGNE - Dark Sail - Old Edition - 43%
The Bologne Distillery, emblematic of Guadeloupe, is a historic house founded in 1887. Its name pays tribute to the former owners of the sugar factory located on the fertile slopes of the majestic La Soufrière volcano. The Bologne family, of Protestant origin, migrated to Holland during the religious wars before settling from 1580 in the Dutch colonial Brazil to cultivate sugar cane. After being expelled from Brazil and then Martinique, the Bologne family settled permanently in Guadeloupe in 1654. The Bologne sugar plantation has endured many historical trials, notably during the French Revolution, thus reflecting the rich history of Caribbean sugar production. It was under the visionary leadership of Louis Sargenton-Callarden in 1930 that the plantation fully dedicated itself to the production of authentic Rhum Agricole, a symbol of excellence and tradition.
Bologne Dark Sail is an exceptional Old rum, carefully distilled in a traditional copper column to preserve all the unique flavors of sugar cane. It ages patiently between 3 and 6 years in selected French oak barrels, offering a subtle balance between aromatic power and smoothness on the palate. This rum with a strong character seduces with its rich and complex notes, ideal for discerning enthusiasts seeking a prestigious Guadeloupean rum.
