Massenez Distillery - Apricot Liqueur - 25%
The Massenez Distillery, emblematic of French distilling art, is located in Dieffenbach-au-Val, the historic heart of Alsace. Founded in 1870 by master distiller Jean-Baptiste Massenez, this family business perpetuates an ancestral know-how recognized in the production of high-quality liqueurs and eaux-de-vie. As early as 1913, his son Eugène Massenez innovated by distilling a delicate wild raspberry for the first time, a creation that charmed the Queen of Sweden, establishing the distillery as an official supplier to the Swedish royal court. The passion was passed on to the third generation with Gabriel Eugène, who enhanced the reputation by partnering with French haute cuisine, collaborating with starred chefs such as Paul Bocuse and prestigious institutions like La Tour d’Argent. In 1979, exponential growth led to the opening of a modern distillery, allowing the brand to export to more than 110 countries while enriching its catalog with exclusive fruit liqueurs and creams. Since 2010, Massenez Distillery has developed in partnership with the Grandes Distilleries Peureux, renowned for their famous Griottines. Under the visionary leadership of Bernard Baud, president of Grandes Distilleries Peureux, a new dynamic has been established while faithfully respecting the DNA and authenticity that make this exceptional house unique.
The liqueurs of Massenez Distillery are made according to a rigorous traditional method. A liqueur is obtained by blending a quality neutral alcohol, sweetened and richly flavored. The fruit cream belongs to this large family, characterized by an even higher sugar content. The essential difference between liqueur and fruit cream lies in their sugar dosage: a liqueur contains at least 100 g/L of sugar with an alcohol degree ranging between 15% and 55%. However, when the sugar exceeds 250 g/L, it is then called "creams." These exquisite products are particularly prized for crafting refined cocktails, enjoyed as authentic digestifs, or used as ingredients to enhance culinary recipes.
