DILLON - Brut Fût - Vintage 2013 - 62%
The Dillon Distillery is ideally located in Martinique, a territory renowned for its exceptional agricultural rums. Its versatile team masters all the key stages of production: from agriculture to distillation, including bottling and marketing, spread across several strategic sites on the island: in Saint-Pierre, at the iconic foot of Mount Pelée, in Basse-Pointe on the Atlantic coast, as well as in Fort-de-France, the capital. Founded in 1779 with the arrival of the Dillon regiment in Martinique, the distillery has a long history marked by the construction in 1869 of the original rum factory. After destruction by a cyclone in 1891, the current buildings were rebuilt in 1928 thanks to the commitment of Raphaël Domergue. Taken over in 1967 by the prestigious Bardinet group, the Dillon distillery obtained in 1996 the precious AOC "Rhum de la Martinique", a guarantee of quality, authenticity, and terroir. Dillon's agricultural rums come exclusively from the distillation of fermented fresh sugarcane juice, ensuring a unique aromatic profile. Committed to a rigorous ecological approach, the distillery applies an innovative sustainable development: total exclusion of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, irrigation using distillation residues for pure water, installation of photovoltaic panels, and valorization of methane produced into renewable electricity.
This exceptional aged agricultural rum was distilled in 2013 before refining its character during aging in carefully selected small French oak barrels, revealing a complex and refined aromatic richness. The limited production of only 1,750 bottles makes this vintage a rarity sought after by enthusiasts and collectors.
