RHUM NEISSON - 15 years - Batch 3 - 48.70% ABV
The Neisson Distillery is located in the heart of Carbet, in the middle of Martinique, an exceptional terroir for the production of authentic agricultural rums. Founded in 1932 by the Neisson brothers, this family house preserves a unique know-how passed down from generation to generation. Jean Neisson, a passionate chemical engineer, dedicated his life to perfecting traditional distillation techniques to produce rums with extraordinary aromas. Today, his descendants, Claudine and then her son Grégory, uphold the values of excellence and respect for nature.
Committed to a sustainable approach, the distillery began its transition to rigorous organic farming in 2013. In 2016, Neisson offered its first certified organic rum with AOC Martinique, guaranteeing controlled origin and premium quality. This ecological process extended over more than 40 hectares of land, carefully arranged to preserve local biodiversity. After years of meticulous research, Neisson now uses its own strains of indigenous yeasts, carefully selected from those naturally present on the sugar canes grown on site, to enhance fermentation and reveal the full aromatic complexity of its rums.
The controlled selection of cane varieties adapted to each plot according to their geological typology, optimized irrigation management for precious water savings, as well as efficient treatment of agricultural effluents, demonstrate a respectful and harmonious approach to the environment. All these efforts converge towards the production of very high-quality agricultural rums, embodying the soul and unique character of the Neisson lands, in perfect symbiosis with the local ecosystem.
