CHALONG BAY - Double Barrel - New French Oak and Ex Armagnac - 47%
Chalong Bay is located on the southeast coast of Phuket, in Thailand. Chalong, which means "celebration" in Thai, perfectly embodies the authentic spirit of Chalong Bay. This region celebrates the ancestral traditions of rum making and the rich cultural, historical, and human heritage linked to the production of this natural and premium rum. Each bottle reflects a unique artisanal know-how, combining sustainable production and environmental respect with French expertise. Indeed, the distillation process combines traditional French craftsmanship with the richness of the Thai terroir, particularly the use of a traditional copper still imported from France, coupled with a distillation technique centuries old. To ensure exceptional quality, a single indigenous variety of Thai sugarcane is rigorously selected among the best, cultivated without chemical fertilizers, in close partnership with local farmers who practice manual harvesting to preserve the original purity of the cane.
This exclusive edition is made from the first presses of pure Thai sugarcane, coming from 100% natural crops, without pesticides or fertilizers. The rum is slowly distilled in a traditional copper still heated by direct fire, typical of the Armagnac region in France. It benefits from meticulous aging of 18 months in new French oak barrels as well as in Armagnac casks, offering the final product a unique aromatic complexity, blending woody notes and the elegance of noble fruits. This approach guarantees an exceptional rum, combining tradition, sustainability, and refined taste, ideal for connoisseurs of high-end spirits.
