The exceptional brand M&G (Musica e Grogue) was created in 2017 by enthusiasts Simão Evora and Jean-Pierre Engelbach. This exclusive range offers artisanal pure cane juice rums from Cape Verde, a unique terroir renowned for the quality of its sugarcane grown without fertilizers or pesticides. The cane benefits from fertile volcanic soil and a temperate tropical climate thanks to the constant irrigation provided by a natural spring that sustains village life throughout the year. Two dominant varieties of sugarcane are carefully cultivated: cana préta and cana riscada. It is the fresh and pure juice of these two species that gives the rum its pronounced aromas, subtly blending fruity notes, the purity of the cane, and a touch of natural spices. Musica e Grogue works closely with local producers who combine traditional know-how and innovations to optimize their distillation equipment. Two clear types of rums are distinguished: Grogue Natural, typical white rums of their terroir, and Grogue Velha, aged long in oak barrels for a more complex and refined profile.

This Grogue Natural comes from the unique terroir of Tarrafal de Monte Trigo, located on the preserved island of Santo Antão in the heart of Cape Verde. Its distillation was carefully carried out between January and May 2019, using the fresh harvest of the same year, ensuring a rum of great authenticity. Production is limited and exclusive with only 639 numbered bottles, reflecting its rare and sought-after character for lovers and connoisseurs of exceptional spirits.
