HSE - Small Cask - Vintage 2014 - Bottled in April 2021 - 46%
\nHSE (Habitation Saint Etienne), formerly known as Habitation La Maugée since 1863, is a prestigious Martinique distillery recognized for its unique expertise. Originally a traditional Martinique sugar mill, it was transformed into a distillery by Amédée Aubery in 1882. This visionary industrialist modernized the facilities by wisely harnessing the Lézarde river, which still supplies the estate today for diluting sugar cane juices with a constant concern for authenticity and quality.
\nIn 1994, entrepreneurs Yves and José Hayot took over the property after judicial recovery, initiating an ambitious renovation program that allowed the historic building to be classified as a Historic Monument. The production of Saint-Etienne rum takes place in a traditional Creole-style copper column still, characteristic and emblematic, originating from the Simon distillery located in François, Martinique. This ancestral process guarantees an exceptional rum with a rich and complex aromatic profile.
\nHSE Small Cask 2014 is a rare extra-old rum, patiently aged in small 55-liter Limousin oak casks, thus optimizing maturation and concentration of aromas. Put into aging on October 15, 2014, it was carefully bottled in April 2021. This exclusive vintage is limited to only 2,800 bottles, making it a true collector's item sought after by connoisseurs of high-end rums.
