BIELLE - Cask Strength 2014 - Bottled 2021 - Batch 2 - 56.5% ABV
The Bielle distillery, a handcrafted gem and a beacon of agricole rum, is ideally located on the paradisiacal island of Marie-Galante, in the heart of the French Antilles. Founded in a rich historical terroir, its origins date back to 1769 with Jean-Pierre Bielle, a coffee grower, before his descendants developed, in 1826, a refinery-sugar factory spanning 53 hectares. Authentic rum production at the estate truly began at the start of the 20th century, with a family tradition that has endured despite periods of abandonment after World War II. Purchased in 1955 by Paul Rameaux, and taken over in 1975 by SEDB (Société d’Exploitation de la Distillerie Bielle), the distillery is today an essential reference in the world of premium agricole rums of the Antilles. The raw material is carefully selected from small local producers, ensuring exceptional quality and an eco-responsible approach. The sugarcane is crushed with two traditional mills, then the natural cane juice is fermented for 48 hours before being precisely distilled using three stainless steel Savalle columns, guaranteeing purity and aromatic complexity.
This exceptional rum, aged 7 years, was distilled in 2014 and bottled in its purest form, as cask strength, without any dilution, in 2021, with a remarkable alcohol content of 56.5%, thus offering an intense, complex, and unique tasting experience for lovers of rare spirits.
