Whisky MICHEL COUVREUR - Vin Jaune Stéphane Tissot - 10 years - 2021 Edition - 48%
\nThe independent bottler Michel Couvreur is renowned for its unique expertise bridging the worlds of wine and whisky. Originally a producer and merchant of Burgundy wine, Michel Couvreur turned to the art of whisky in 1978, distilling for the first time at the Edradour distillery in 1986. Aspiring to acquire a distillery in Scotland, he was nevertheless opposed by his wife. Together, they chose to settle in Bouze-Lès-Beaune, a strategic location halfway between Scotland and Andalusia, to focus on aging exceptional whiskies. Here, maturation is mainly done in Sherry casks and Port casks, bringing rich and complex notes. The Clos des Spiritueux brand, known for its rigorous selection, offers a very varied range where blending, careful cask selection, and experimentation with new techniques are at the heart of daily expertise. Since Michel Couvreur's death in 2013, his son-in-law Cyril Deschamps and his wife Alexandra have passionately and rigorously continued his work.
