Tatanka is a renowned artisanal company based in Martinique, specializing in creating hand-painted artworks on various artistic media. Since 1996, a talented Martinican artist has been creating works directly on glass in an authentic naive art style. These unique bottles depict iconic life scenes of the Neisson Distillery, paying a vibrant tribute to the meticulous work of the men and women who passionately craft exceptional Neisson rums. For each limited edition, three different original artworks are offered, providing an incomparable visual and cultural richness.
The Neisson Distillery, located in Carbet in the heart of Martinique, was founded in 1932 by the Neisson brothers. Jean, a chemical engineer by training, dedicated his entire career to perfecting the innovative distillation techniques that today give this house its worldwide reputation. His descendants, Claudine and then her son Grégory, proudly continue this family tradition with expertise. Since 2013, the distillery has committed to a transition to organic farming, launching in 2016 the first organic AOC Martinique rum aimed at the most demanding connoisseurs. Currently, more than 40 hectares of land benefit from this sustainable and ecological approach.
With recognized expertise, Neisson uses its own exclusive strains of indigenous yeasts, rigorously selected from those naturally present on the sugar canes grown on the estate. Furthermore, the distillery practices a careful selection of crop varieties to ensure their perfect adaptation to the specificities of each plot. Precise irrigation management promotes sustainable water savings, while an efficient effluent treatment system fully respects the natural balance. All these combined efforts allow Neisson to produce high-end agricultural rums in perfect harmony with the unique ecosystem of its lands.
