Tatanka is an iconic artisanal company from Martinique, specializing in creating unique hand-painted artworks on various surfaces. Since 1996, a talented Martinican artist has been painting directly on glass in a style of naive art that perfectly reflects the local spirit. These exceptional bottles depict authentic scenes of distillery life, paying tribute to the dedication of the men and women involved in crafting the prestigious Neisson rums. Each special edition offers three original illustrations, making every bottle truly unique and collectible.
The Neisson Distillery, located in Carbet in Martinique, has a historic reputation since its founding in 1932 by the Neisson brothers. Jean Neisson, a chemical engineer by training, devoted his career to perfecting traditional distillation techniques, ensuring an unparalleled rum quality. His descendants, Claudine and then her son Grégory, continue this ancestral expertise with passion and innovation. Since 2013, the distillery has committed to a sustainable organic agriculture approach and in 2016 introduced the first certified organic AOC Martinique rum. Today, over 40 hectares of farmland follow this responsible philosophy, combining tradition and environmental respect. After years of research, Neisson favors the use of its own strains of indigenous yeasts, carefully selected from those naturally present on the cane, to optimize fermentation and rum typicity. The reasoned adaptation of cane varieties to the specific nature of each plot, controlled irrigation management for efficient water savings, and ecological treatment of effluents perfectly illustrate their commitment to producing exceptional agricultural rums in harmony with the local ecosystem.
This white agricultural rum vintage 2018 is named "La Lavandière Rose". It embodies both the purity and aromatic richness typical of Martinique's great whites, enhanced by ancestral know-how and a deep passion for the terroir.
