Tatanka is a renowned artisanal company in Martinique, specializing in creating hand-painted artworks on various surfaces. Since 1996, a Martinican artist has applied his talent directly onto glass, in a unique naive art style, illustrating authentic scenes of life within the distillery. These works are a vibrant tribute to the meticulous work of the men and women involved in crafting Neisson's exceptional rums. For each special edition, three distinct and exclusive illustrations are offered, making each bottle truly collectible and precious.
The Neisson Distillery is located in Le Carbet, in the heart of Martinique, and benefits from a strong family heritage since its founding in 1932 by the Neisson brothers. Jean Neisson, a chemical engineer by training, dedicated his life to perfecting distillation techniques to ensure the purity and aromatic richness of his rums. Today, his descendants, Claudine and then her son Grégory, continue this tradition of excellence. Since 2013, the distillery has initiated a transition to certified organic farming, culminating in 2016 with the launch of the first organic AOC Martinique rum, certified and acclaimed by connoisseurs. This process has gradually extended to over 40 hectares of farmland, in perfect respect of local biodiversity. After many years of research, Neisson now uses its own strains of carefully selected indigenous yeasts, naturally derived from the sugarcane of its plantations. In parallel, a reasoned selection of crop varieties is made based on the specific adaptation of each plot. Controlled irrigation management promotes significant water savings, while innovative effluent treatment ensures sustainable production. All these actions are part of a responsible philosophy aimed at producing exceptional agricultural rums in total harmony with the natural ecosystem of the Neisson lands.
