RHUM LONGUETEAU - Prelude - Batch No. 9 - 50.1%
The Longueteau family settled in Guadeloupe as early as 1766, but it was at the end of the 19th century that Louis-Philippe Henry Longueteau acquired part of the prestigious Marquisate of Sainte-Marie, put up for auction following the major crisis in the sugar industry. In 1895, he decided to purchase the illustrious Habitation Espérance to transform this former sugar estate into an exceptional distillery. Today, it is François Longueteau who continues this unique family tradition, being both an agricultural owner and master distiller, making this distillery the only one in Guadeloupe to date with such personal commitment.
Longueteau rums are made exclusively from their own sugarcane fields, carefully cultivated on site. The canes are harvested and crushed the same day, at optimal full maturity, ensuring unmatched freshness and quality. After a natural fermentation of 48 hours, without any chemical additives, the resulting juices are precisely distilled in a Savalle column equipped with 28 plates, ensuring a perfect balance between purity and aromatic complexity.
Prelude Batch 9 is an exceptional amber rum, crafted with a balanced blend of 65% red cane and 35% blue cane. This unique rum benefits from aging in new barrels, which impart powerful and elegant notes, enhancing its complex and generous aromatic profile.
