BIELLE - Vintage 2001 - Small Batch - 45%
\nThe Bielle distillery is located in the heart of the paradisiacal island of Marie-Galante, a jewel of the French Antilles. Since 1769, when Jean-Pierre Bielle was already cultivating coffee there, this rich land has gradually shifted towards sugarcane cultivation. In 1826, his sons founded a refinery-sugar factory on 53 hectares, marking the beginnings of a rum tradition that truly took off only at the beginning of the 20th<\/sup> century. After a period of abandonment following the Second World War, the property was acquired in 1955 by Paul Rameaux, then taken over in 1975 by the SEDB (Société d’Exploitation de la Distillerie Bielle). Today, the Bielle distillery is among the most prestigious and respected in the Antilles, recognized for its artisanal know-how and respect for the terroir. The sugarcane used comes exclusively from small local producers, guaranteeing superior quality and optimal traceability. The cane juice is extracted using two traditional mills and then fermented for 48 hours before being precisely distilled through three stainless steel Savalle columns, ensuring finesse and aromatic complexity in every bottle.
