RHUM HSE - Small Cask - Vintage 2007 - 46%
HSE (Habitation Saint Etienne) has a rich history beginning in 1863 under the name Habitation La Maugée. Originally an iconic sugar factory of Martinique, this exceptional estate was transformed into a distillery by Amédée Aubery in 1882. This visionary industrial captain modernized the infrastructure while harnessing the natural energy of the rivière Lézarde, which still powers the dilution process of sugarcane juices to produce an exceptional rum.
In 1994, following the judicial recovery of its former owners, Yves and José Hayot took over the reins of this historic property. They then undertook significant renovation work, consolidating its status as a Martinican Historical Monument. Saint-Etienne rum is distilled using artisanal methods in a traditional Creole copper column, from the prestigious distillery du Simon located in François, in the heart of Martinique.
HSE Small Cask vintage 2007 is an exceptional rum aged in extremely rare and small Limousin oak barrels called 55-liter casks, unlike the classic 200-liter barrels. This maturation in small casks gives the rum an intense aromatic richness, unique complexity, and remarkable finesse that will delight discerning enthusiasts.
