Limoncello - Maison Giffard - 25%
The Giffard Distillery, founded in 1885 by Émile Giffard, a passionate pharmacist based in Angers, is renowned for its unique expertise in crafting high-quality artisanal liqueurs. From the beginning, Émile Giffard conducted extensive research on various beverages, developing an iconic mint-based liqueur with refreshing and digestive properties, the famous Menthe-Pastille. Today, four generations later, this dynamic family business employs 87 dedicated staff and proudly exports its products to more than 10 countries across four continents, thus consolidating its international reputation.
The fundamental ingredients used by the distillery are carefully selected fruits and plants, mainly sourced from the region but also imported depending on the specific variety sought, thereby ensuring optimal quality. The maceration follows a rigorous traditional process that preserves the authentic aroma of the chosen fruits and plants. To fully extract their intense and natural flavors, the fruits are macerated in alcohol for between 48 hours and 3 months, depending on the time needed to achieve a perfect balance between fruit and alcohol. This resulting infusion forms the essential base ingredient in the liqueur's production. Each batch then undergoes a meticulous process of blending, filtration, and quality control before being carefully tasted by our experts, thus guaranteeing an excellent product at bottling time.
