BIELLE - 2005 - 10 years - Decanter - 45%
\nThe Bielle distillery is located on the paradisiacal island of Marie-Galante, an iconic destination of the French West Indies. Founded on a family heritage, the distillery traces its roots back to 1769 with Jean-Pierre Bielle, originally a coffee grower on the island. In 1826, his sons created a refinery-sugar plantation covering 53 hectares, marking the beginnings of local rum production on the estate. However, it was only at the beginning of the 20th<\/sup> century that Bielle rum gained recognition. After a period of abandonment following World War II, the property was acquired in 1955 by Paul Rameaux, before being taken over in 1975 by the SEDB (Société d’Exploitation de la Distillerie Bielle). Today, the Bielle distillery is among the most prestigious in the Antilles, renowned for its commitment to quality and authenticity. The sugar cane used comes exclusively from small local producers, ensuring a unique terroir and inimitable flavors. The cane juice is extracted using two traditional mills, then fermented for 48 hours before being distilled in three stainless steel Savalle columns, a method favored to preserve the aromatic richness of the rum.
\nThis exceptional rum was distilled in August 2005 and patiently aged for 10 years, then drawn off in September 2015. Its aging took place in two complementary phases, first in ex-Bourbon barrels selected for their ability to bring roundness and vanilla notes, then in Pedro Ximénez barrels for a subtle complexity combining sweetness and depth. Bottled cask strength, this rum reveals a powerful and elegant character, presented in a refined decanter, ideal for connoisseurs and lovers of exceptional spirits.
