BIELLE - 2015 - 5 years - Unfiltered - 42%
The Bielle distillery is located on the paradisiacal island of Marie-Galante, in the heart of the French Antilles, renowned for the richness of its unique terroir. Originally founded in 1769 by Jean-Pierre Bielle, who was then cultivating coffee, the estate transformed in 1826 when his sons created a refinery-sugar factory spanning 53 fertile hectares. However, the true rum production at the estate began at the start of the 20th<\/sup> century, blending tradition and ancestral know-how. After a period of abandonment following World War II, the distillery was bought in 1955 by Paul Rameaux. In 1975, management was taken over by SEDB (Société d’Exploitation de la Distillerie Bielle), which revived production with passion and expertise. Today, the Bielle distillery stands as one of the essential references for agricultural rums in the Antilles, emphasizing a rigorous supply of sugarcane exclusively from small local producers. The cane juice is extracted using two traditional mills, fermented for 48 hours, then precisely distilled through three stainless steel Savalle columns, ensuring rum of exceptional quality.
This aged agricultural rum was patiently matured in Bourbon oak barrels for 5 years starting from 2011, offering remarkable aromatic complexity and unparalleled richness on the palate. Bottled in 2015, this vintage perfectly illustrates the elegance and finesse of Bielle's craftsmanship, promising an authentic tasting experience for connoisseurs of premium rums.
