BIELLE - White - Column Still Raw - 71.2%
The Bielle distillery is located in the heart of Marie-Galante Island, a jewel of the French Antilles. Founded on a rich history, in 1769, Jean-Pierre Bielle was already cultivating coffee on this paradisiacal island. Later, in 1826, his sons created a refinery-sugar mill on 53 hectares, marking the beginning of a local agricultural tradition. Rum production on the estate only really began at the start of the 20th<\/sup> century. After World War II, the property was neglected before being bought by Paul Rameaux in 1955. In 1975, management of the estate, the main house, and the distillery was entrusted to the SEDB (Société d’Exploitation de la Distillerie Bielle), which modernized the equipment while preserving traditional know-how.
Today, the Bielle distillery is recognized as one of the most prestigious in the Antilles, renowned for the exceptional quality of its rums. The sugarcane is exclusively harvested from small local producers, ensuring artisanal and sustainable production. The cane juice is extracted using two mills before being fermented for 48 hours, an essential step that develops the complex aromas of the rum. Distillation then takes place in three stainless steel Savalle columns, guarantees of purity and precision, allowing the production of a rum with great finesse and aromatic power.
This white rum, raw from the column, was carefully distilled in small copper Savalle columns with 16 plates, offering a slow and meticulous distillation that preserves the very essence of the Marie-Galante terroir. The result is a rum with a strong character, ideal for lovers of raw agricultural rums seeking intensity and authenticity.
